One Nation, Under God

Rena Marie Crasco-Florcik

Rena Marie Crasco-Florcik was born August 22, 1963, in Malta, Montana. She was the daughter of Will James Crasco and Arlene (Babes) Trottier Crasco. Rena started school in Malta before her family moved “out to the mountains,” at Beaver Creek in the Little Rockies. She later graduated from Malta High School in 1982 and moved to Billings, where she attended cosmetology school. She worked in Washington for two years, then returned to Montana and earned an associate’s degree in business. She also worked as a caregiver for her grandmother, Rebecca Crasco of Beaver Creek. After returning to Billings, Rena met Vince Florcik, Jr., and they were married on October 5, 2002. They were blessed with a son, Walter. Rena helped care for many other children and relatives over the years, and her family always came to rely on her honest opinions and heartfelt guidance in their times of trouble.

Rena was the granddaughter of John and Rebecca Crasco of Beaver Creek and of Max Trottier of Malta. She was a member of the Medicine Bear Clan. She is survived by her husband, Vincent Florcik, Jr., and her son, Walter, of Billings; her mother Arlene Crasco of Billings, whom she took care of for 17 years; her father, Will Crasco, and step-mother, Thelma, of Beaver Creek; her two brothers: Dale Crasco of Billings and David (Rawnie) Crasco of Beaver Creek; her foster sister, Tami Kuhr, of Chinook; cousins, aunts, and uncles too numerous to name; and eight nieces and nephews: Jake Phillips of Havre, Jaylene Phillips (Frank Webb) of Lodge Pole, along with Lucas Phillips, Toby Diaz, Neala Crasco, Christen Crasco, Zachary Crasco, and Michael Crasco, all of Billings.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is being planned for Saturday, December 20, in Lodge Pole. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the National Autism Society.
