Malta Locals: The Scarlet Fever scare that was prevalent the first of the week has died out considerably and no new cases have developed. The closing of the different buildings in the city might have helped some in stamping out the disease but when children are allowed on the streets to the extent that are in Malta, they had better be in school.

Dr. Cockrell was up the latter part of last week and closed the schools and public places for a short time. The schools have been thoroughly fumigated. The picture shows, which were closed a couple of nights, were permitted to be opened again on Saturday night by Dr. Cockrell, after they had been fumigated.

Dr. Cockrell was up from Hinsdale looking after the scarlet fever scare that has thrown the people of Malta into an uproar.
