One Nation, Under God
The Dodson School hosted a community picnic last Wednesday to honor the town's military veterans and celebrate Thanksgiving as the school's cafeteria was packed to the brim with students, parents, teachers and community members.
The meal consisted of all the Thanksgiving Trimmings -- turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable trays, salads -- and was highlighted by the Dodson students from grades kindergarten through sixth as the students provided entertainment for the event.
Each of the classes sang songs about how grateful they are to the veterans and about the meaning of Thanksgiving and then the older students read Haiku poems to the audience members (a few follow here.)
