Shootin Firewater "Flit" wins horse of the year

Shootin Firewater "Flit" was all-around AQHA Barrel Horse of the Year at the Northern Rodeo Association Finals for 2014 in Butte, Montana.

Flit is an eight year old stud, out of "Firewater Flit". Jockey Kiana Simonson and Flit have competed all summer in the NRA rodeos, United Indian Rodeo Association Region (UIRA) and joined the U of M College Rodeo Team this fall semester, finishing half of the college rodeo season number two in the barrels of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo - Big Sky Region. Flit is also a two time qualifier for the INFR Indian National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Kiana quoted, "It's been an amazing journey with this horse, and I couldn't be more proud of how far he has come over the last year. Through all our struggles, slips and falls and the fact that he's blind in one eye, together we have overcome many obstacles along the way and I wouldn't of wanted to take this journey with any other horse. He's my best friend and brings me so much happiness! I couldn't be more thankful for being blessed with such an awesome horse!"
