One Nation, Under God
Malta High School's newest English teacher, Mrs. Shyla Smith, comes to us from Darby, Montana. A graduate of the U of M in Missoula, she has a B.A. in Secondary English Education for grades five through high school. She will be teaching sixth grade reading and also sophomore and junior English. Although the sixth graders are currently reading a textbook of short stories, in the near future they will move on to reading and analyzing various novels. In addition to her teaching duties, this first year high school teacher will also be advisor to the MHS yearbook. In her private life she admits to being concerned about maintaining good health and tries to work out, exercise, and eat right to stay healthy. In her spare time, she and her young daughter are also busy as rock hounds. Her husband is a fire fighter in the Darby area and plans to move to Malta in the near future. Mrs. Smith says she finds the people of Malta amazingly nice and very caring. She would like to extend a huge thank you to the community for the many acts of kindness and service that have been extended to her and her family. Welcome, Mrs. Smith, to your new community. We're glad that you have joined us.
