Vivian was born east of Lodge Pole on March 9, 1933 to Glen Messerly and Nellie Kirkaldie Messerly at the Messerly ranch. Here she spent her childhood and early teen years enjoying her family and ranch life. She loved riding horses and hoped someday she would marry a tall, dark, and handsome Texan. At age seventeen on December 17, 1950 she married Paul Webb, a short, light but very handsome Texan (Paul was born in Texas). Paul and Vivian spent their earlier married years in Idaho and later returned to Montana where they resided until both of their passing. Paul and Vivian brought eleven children into the world.
Vivian gave her heart to Jesus Christ on July 1, 1961 and became born again. She attended church at Lodge Pole Assembly of God from that time until she physically no longer was able. She loved going to church, reading her Bible, and writing in tablets commentary notes on the scriptures she read. She spent the vast majority of her life doing what she loved raising eleven children and helping with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her children, and grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to teach them about God and pray with them every chance she got. She was a strong woman both spiritually and physically. She could not only pray heaven down to earth, she was also known to take down a few of her sons and nephews in arm wrestling a time or two. She was an intelligent woman who studied to be a teacher with the first teacher training cohort with the College of Great Falls. She worked as a paraprofessional at the Lodge Pole Schools. She was a very hard worker who loved gardening and creating delicious meals. She had a very sharp memory and loved to tell stories of long ago.
Survivors include her 11 children, Nolan E. Webb, Floyd D. Webb (Debbie), Wanda "Suzie" Webb (George Fetter), Cheryl A. Iwan (Don), James P. Webb (Kristine), Sister Mahns (Fred), Dennis G. Webb (Candace), John D. Webb, Paul E. Webb (Vivian), Glen H. Webb (Lisa), and Melissa J. Henry (Jackson). She was blessed with twenty five grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.
Vivian finished the race well. She has now embraced the moment she had lived for. She is no longer suffering from the crippling effects of arthritis. She is dancing on streets of gold with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and all the loved ones who have gone on before. For Vivian to live was Christ, and to die was gain! (Philippians 1:21)
