One Nation, Under God

Whitewater News for the Week of August 13, 2014

Our Sympathy goes out to Pat Anderson on the passing of her brother, Marvin Jones of Malta. He had been sick quite a while.

My thanks to Patty Young for the bottled drinks and cookies.

Cindy Eklund, her daughter, and Gerri Peterson, brought me out from Malta recently, thanks ladies.

Sally Austin and Janice Reichelt went to Denver, Co., to visit Justin and family and Kirk Reichelt and Family, Julie Cole, Joyce Donaven and Janet Brown (My sister also met and went to Denver al-so…nobody invited me.)

Pastor Wisher and Family and some of the Lawless family attended camp at the Little Rockies Christian Camp, near Landusky. Some of the Outlaw family also attended camp at a camp in Glacier Park. The scenery up there is beautiful (I’ve been there.)

Frank Moran, a KMMR Radio announcer, and Donny Messerly of Malta were in Whitewater recently “sightseeing.”

I went to the Phillips County Fair for three days. I rode the PC Transit bus to and from Malta to Dodson for free, that’s a real service.

Dixie Stordahl’s sister was there as well as Dixie’s nephew was playing music at the fairgrounds. The night show concert with singer Trevor Panczak and the Roughstock Band was wonderful. Some where new songs but most where real, old-time country songs as a tribute to the greats like Johnny Cash, Merl Haggard, George Straight and the late George Jones. When Trevor sang He Stopped Loving Her Today, by George, it was enough to make you cry!

I went to part of the pig auction and laughed when one of the pigs was named after long-time auctioneer, Mr. Rustad. Maybe Cliff was honored, he said “I finally got a pig named after me.”

I love the fair! It rained, no it poured, about one inch here in Whitewater. Great!
