Frances Ann Misfeldt

Frances Ann Misfeldt Winkler, 82, of Helena passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014. She was born on September 11, 1931 in Malta, Montana.

Born to Anna Sandlie Misfeldt and Orlo Hansen Misfeldt. She attended grade and high school in Malta and graduated in 1949. She then attended the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. Her employment included Trafton-Dorr Co., Phillips Co, Extension Office, Malta, J.M. McDonald Co., Helena, Hennessy's in Helena and Billings and The Cresent and Frederick and Nelson in Spokane, Washington.

Frances met Jerry in July 1963 when he was stationed in Malta as a patrolman. She was working at the county assistant's office; both were in the same building. It was love at first sight.

Frances was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Malta Lutheran Church. Founded the Malta Toastmistress Club and enjoyed numerous civic activities in Phillips County. She was President of the Phillips Co. Homemakers Extension Club for three years, Order of Rainbow for Girls, local reporter for KLTZ Radio.

Frances is survived by her husband, Gerald L. Winkler; her children, John Morgan Rothie and Michael Rothie; grandchildren, Karina Ann Marie, Nicole Yohanna, John Paul Almont Rothie and Brandon Fetter, great-grandchildren, Samuel Del Cid and Stefan Del Cid, Amanda Parabes, Paola Ponenpa and Matthew Fetter; sister, Elinor Misfeldt Dickson of New Mexico. Cousin, Vern Field of Great Falls.

A memorial service celebrating Frances' life is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2014 at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N. Montana Ave. A reception will follow in the social hall of the funeral home.
