Headline: Saco landmark is now historical site

Nearly 100 years old, the building formerly known as the Saco Mercantile, then the Co-Op Store still serves the residents of Saco. Built in 1907, the two-story brick building served as a general merchandise and grocery store on the first floor with offices on the second. Will and Betty Copple still operate a Laundromat and Will’s Antiques in the building. Historical research by Betty led to the building becoming a National Historic Site in Montana.

Headline: The Circus

The Circus has come and gone, and it had never stopped there are very few in this city who would have missed it. The only things about it that was any good was the advertising. It carried the usual bunch of grafters and undesirable class of people that are generally with an organization of this kind. They had just as few animals as a show could have and just about as few acts that were presentable … at Culbertson they were even worse than here and the show broke up in a fight. It will be well to remember the name, and in the future when they come here to pass them up.

*G.W. Hewitt has just received a carload of Ford cars. Two or three are for sale. Last chance to get a Ford car this year.
