Malta Students qualify as BUGs

The Malta Kiwanis Club recently held an assembly at the Malta Elementary School to honor those students who qualified as BUGs.   The Kiwanis “Bringing Up Grades” program is one to encourage students to be diligent in their studies and to strive to get better grades each quarter.  Students do not have to be on any honor roll to qualify as a BUG, but must improve in their academic standing from the quarter before.  Fifth grade students honored were:  Celine Crasco, McKayla Foster, Colt French, Sidney Meeks, Parker Mortenson, Pierce Mortenson, Turk Salsbery, Anabelle Giblette, Marcus Knudsen, Korin Longknife, Jay Nicholson, Kooper Oxarart, Danie Rhodes, R.C. Skiff, Erica Smith, Hayden VanWichen, Nicholas Wegner, Brett Wiebe, and Leslie Young.  Fourth grade students honored with awards were:  Thadious Adams, Connor Clausen, Hannah Hanley, Aidan Kaasa, Oren Mackey, Kevin Missildine, Lexis Schipman, Makiya Wilke, Tamra Dowell, Emma Harms, Mariah Horn, Darrow Messerly, and Taylor Score.  In addition to the quarterly rewards the following fifth grade students qualified as BUGs for the entire year: Anabelle Giblette, Sidney Meeks, Kooper Oxarart, and Danie Rhodes. Fifth graders to qualify for the yearly award were Kelbee Denham, Jillian O’Brien, Keith Epperson, Carly Garfield, and Macy Williamson.   Anabelle Giblette and Sidney Meeks have qualified as All-Year BUGs for 2 years in a row.  The Malta Kiwanis Club is proud to honor the efforts of these students.
