Malta Elementary Presidential Awards

Malta Elementary is proud to announce the winners of the 2013-2014 Presidential Awards.  The purpose of these awards is to recognize academic success in the classroom.  This criteria includes grades for 4th and 5th grades, standardized test scores, and teacher recommendations.  Those receiving the Presidential Gold Award – the highest award – were:  Sidney Meeks, Hayden VanWichen, Marcus Knudsen, Pierce Mortenson, Brett Wiebe, Danie Rhodes, Kylie Hunter, Erica Smith, and Annabelle Giblette.  The Presidential Silver Award, which incorporates outstanding educational growth, improvement or intellectual development in academic subjects was presented to Lauren Doney and Parker Mortenson.  This program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, in partnership with the National Association of Elementary School Principals.  The awards include a letter signed by President Barak Obama, the Secretary of Education, and Mr. Tad Schye, the Elementary Principal.  We commend all these students on their academic progress.
