One Nation, Under God
It is a true story that the Festival of Trees will no longer be held at the Phillips County Museum. The good news is, the Phillips County Historical Society is hosting a “Christmas Social” to be held December 4, 2014, at the P.C. Museum!
The Christmas Social will be similar to the past Tree Festivals in that it will continue to offer decorating competitions, silent and live auctions, entertainment and scrumptious refreshments.
However, the large tree decorating competition has been eliminated. In lieu of the large tree entries, the Phillips County Historical Society will be offering 12 to 15 two-foot undecorated trees at minimal cost to businesses, organizations and community members interested in participating. These undecorated trees will be available to the partipants in July.
It was the general consensus that the community has been saturated with beautifully decorated “large” trees the past ten years. The smaller trees will be much easier to relocate and will eliminate the costly decorating expense.
The Phillips County Historical Society realizes the past Christmas Tree Festivals have been a favorite for many and is looking forward to hosting the festive 2014 “Christmas Social.”
More detailed information will be released in the near future.
