MALTA- Terrance Bell 79, His Indian name was "Travels Alone", beloved Uncle, Grandfather, great-grandfather passed away peacefully on Sunday April 27, 2014 at Hi-Line Retirement Center in Malta.
A wake will be held on Wednesday April 30, 2014 in Lodgepole at Enemy Killer with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Services will be held on Thursday May 1, 2014 1:00 p.m. in Lodgepole. Burial with Military Honors will be at the Lodgepole Cemetery.
Terrance was born to Tom Bell and Mary Ann Thinker-Bell on November 15, 1934 at Lodge Pole, Montana. Terrance was one of the original allottees of the Gros Ventre Tribe and a member of Little Chief band. Terrance attended Lodge Pole Elementary School.
Terrance enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served three years and 28 days and of which two years and eight months he spent deployed overseas South China Sea - Korean War. Terrance was awarded the National Defense Services Medal and was a Fireman U.S. Navy. After serving the Navy, Terrance spent most of his life in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was married.
Terrance worked as a laborer and ranch hand. He was most proud of his career in the U.S. Navy and his Ford Ranger. Terrance drove all over Montana in his Ford Ranger truck. He was a sweet man who loved to tease. His nickname was: "Booze." Before going into the nursing home Terrance spent a lot of time at Lodge Pole Catholic Church with Sister Laura and at the Lodge Pole Senior Center with all of the staff.
Terrance is survived by his sister Leona (Sweetie) Bell-Winn Family (5); his children: Steve (Patti) Azure; Benita (Russell) Plainfeather; Bernard Bell; Doreen Bell; Warren Bell; Alan P. Bell all of Lodgepole; Norma (Channis) Whiteman of Billings; David Winn III; Tanya Etchemendy & family; Ted Bell Sr. & family; Dodi Bell & family; Margaret June Martin; Beverly Brown; Jim (Shirley) Bell; Cassie Perez; Margie Bell; Loretta Ironmaker; Linda Bell; Belva Bell; Benny Bell; Kay Bell; Wade Bell; Annie Azure; Deb Cuny; Pete Azure, Terry Azure, Jack Azure, Mary Azure, Ted Azure, and Jerome Bell Family. Grandchildren: 28; Great-grandchildren: 20. Brother In-Law: Bob Azure Sr.
Terrance was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Mary Ann Bell; siblings brothers Timothy Bell, Preston Bell, Joe Bell, Matt Bell, Hank Bell, and George Bell and sisters: Mary Bell, Mona Bell-Azure and Kate Bell-Whitcher.
Terrance taught us the meaning of Family.
