Whitewater Junior High students win Championship at Academic Olympics

Students from Whitewater Junior High won the Oral Rounds Championship at the Academic Olympics in Glasgow last Wednesday. The team – Hannah Anderson and Bella Lawless, both of the seventh grade, and Trace Simonson and Cody Scheffelmaer, of the eighth grade – defeated eight other schools at the Olympics.

During the competition, a four-hour test in math, English, science and social studies preceded the oral rounds. Simonson also won sixth place in social studies and fourth in science while Anderson placed sixth in math and tied for ninth in English.

The other teams in the competition from Opheim, Luster, Medicine Lake, Bainville, Froid, Richey, Lambert and Westby.
