Two candidates, one an incumbent, have tossed their hats into the Malta School Board race.
Incumbent Gaelen Curtis of Malta has filed her intention to seek a second term on the board while newcomer Thayne Mackey of Malta has also announced he will run.
Two school board seats are up for election in the May 6 school election, the one currently held by Curtis and another currently held by John Meisdalen.
Meisdalen has already announced he won’t seek reelection to his seat. Curtis is running for her third term on the board.
The deadline for filing for the school election with the district clerk is March 27.
