    The Saco Panthers kicked off their season at the Glasgow invitational, though they only had three athletes competing. Alana Malmend competed for the girls. Chris Depuydt and Chandler Pippin for the boys. Malmend's 14 points were enough to put the school in tenth place. Though many fans of the Saco-Hinsdale Wildfire have seen her leaping ability, Malmend surprised many people that day, finishing first in the high jump after registering a leap of 5-0.     Despite only having three athletes at their first meet of the year -- the Glasgow Invitational -- the Malta M-ettes track and field team took sixth place at the meet last Saturday.     The Malta Mustangs track and field squad made their presence felt at the Glasgow Invitational last Saturday, March 28, finishing sixth at the meet with a total of 31 points. Garfield County’s Mustangs were a real surprise, taking first at the meet with 98 points. Glasgow was second with 92 points and Wolf Point was third with 61.     The Malta M-ettes placed eighth in team standings at state after the State B meet in Butte, thanks to the heroic efforts of Sophia Stiles, Darby Schye and Jada Nicholson. The team scored 27.5 points in the two day event. Plains won the meet with 83, Big Fork was second with 58.5 and Manhattan was third with 38.3.     Saco’s Charlotte Jolley has been this year’s biggest surprise from Phillip’s county, and her season isn't done yet.
