Philips County Motor Sports Inc. announced the 2015 $500 scholarship recipients as Terence Snell, Malta, John Chinadle, Havre MT, Johnathan Lee, Scobey MT and Layne Gorder, Poplar MT. PCMS gives four scholarships each year to area senior entering into some type of mechanical study with the most popular being diesel and welding. Though there was plenty of room in the stands for more to be seated, the 2 day event that was held for the benefit of TJ Kindle hosted by the Dodson Speedway was deemed a success. In Sunday's AMX action at the Phillips County Fair, Chinook's Mike Powell ran a 1976 Pontiac Lemans. He fell in love with the sport after experiencing it for the first time. Seventy-two racers took the line on a fair weathered and mosquito-less weekend at the Hi-Line Dragstrip, which started Saturday and ended Sunday. The Dodson Speedway held their first of three Auto Motocross events this year last Sunday. When all the smoke cleared Havre’s Seth Hamilton brought home the first place trophy in the A main grouping.
