The Malta Cross Country team traveled west to the Havre Invitational Cross Country meet, last Saturday, where teams from up and down the Hi-line met on a beautiful late summer morning with cool temps, overcast skies and a nice breeze. The meet takes place at Prairie Farms Golf Course north of Havre, a green oasis in the middle of farmland. The North Country Lady Mavericks Volleyball team had a week full of games as they took on Class B's Harlem Wildcats and won 3-0 on Thursday, September 12. The Malta Mustang football team is 2-0 in their 2024-25 campaign after defeating the Baker Spartans 54-14 on Friday, August 30, and the Red Lodge Rams 21-18 on Friday, September 6. This year's group returns plenty of talent from a team that went 5-5 and made the playoffs last season. The Mustangs will be without Bow Saint-Louis, Clayton Hallenberg, Kyle Darrington, and Mason Sjostrom, who all graduated last spring. The North Country Lady Mavericks Volleyball team graduated their top two hitters from their 2023 season that ended with the team taking third in the State C tournament for the second season in a row. The team will be without Teagan Erickson, Paige Wasson, and Kendall Scheffelmear, who graduated last spring. All three earned All-Conference honors last season. The Dodson Coyote Cross Country Program features 10 high schoolers and five middle schools in 2024. The Coyotes have one senior this season; Junior Stiffarm.
