The Milk River Bambino Baseball League season ended last Wednesday, June 30, at Trafton Park. This year's league featured 100 tee-ball and baseball players from age four to 13. The weather was perfect for two full days of points racing at the Hi-Line Dragstrip this past weekend. On Saturday, the strip had 51 cars and two Jr. Dragsters racing down it for trophies in four different classes with a $20 buy-back option, after the first elimination round, just in case the losers of round one wanted another crack at it. For a second consecutive weekend, the Malta High School gymnasium featured basketball teams from the Hi-Line and beyond, this time for the Tenth Annual Malta Summer Shootout. Something peculiar happened last Tuesday, June 8, at the Malta Mustangs Football team's practice field. On Saturday, June 12, 2021, the Dodson Speedway held their first race of the year and it was a benefit race for Michael Jaynes and Corrine Hould. The Malta M-ettes basketball team found some top-notch competition on Friday, June 18, at the Malta Gymnasium. The Malta City Municipal Pool officially opened last Monday, June 7, and since then swimmers of all ages have jumped in to escape the heat of the early summer. Grades one through five spent the afternoon of Thursday, May 27, burning off some of the energy they had stored up over the winter.
