Saturday afternoon the tech men checked in cars in preparation for the AMX Races. Twenty-two cars were ready the strut their stuff and show their worth on the tracks. On a nicely groomed track, cars in the Stock and Super Stock categories were anxious for the starter gun to go off. The 2022 4-H and FFA Livestock Show featured 32 beeves, 48 swine, and two sheep, last week at the 107th Phillips County Fair, earning their showmen a total of $405,772.75 in sales. The Malta Swim Team will be sending seven swimmers to the Montana Federation of Swimmer State Swim Meet this weekend in Lewistown. It was hot air with an occasional breeze that welcomed 65 competitors to the Hi-Line Drag Strip on Saturday and Sunday. Three cars were unable to compete due to breakdowns or various issues. The Malta Swim team overcame a couple of 105-degree days in Glasgow last weekend, including record-breaking 108-degree temps on Sunday, July 17. The Malta Swim Team hosted their first Montana Federation of Swimmers swim meet since the 2018 season. The 2022 Malta NRA Rodeo featured a little adversity by way of a bleacher-clearing thunderstorm last Saturday, July 9, at the Trafton Park Rodeo Arena. The Penguin Palace in Whitewater was the site of Coach B's Basketball Academy, a week-long event in which the youth of Phillips County and surrounding towns were able to work on their skills on the court. The Malta Swim Team has had two early meets this season to get things going. On June 4 and 5, the team was in Harlem for the Harlem Invitational.
