    The Malta Volleyball Team and North Country Maverick Volleyball Team clashed in a Tuesday, September 13, meeting of undefeated teams in the Penguin Palace in Whitewater. Though Malta swept North Country last season, the Mavericks won this match 3-2. The scores were NC 20 - M 25, NC 25 - M 20, NC 25 - M 20, NC 23 - M 25, and NC 15 - M 10. They have been canceling a lot of sporting events with the recent wildfires that have been surrounding the area and the poor air quality.     The Malta Cross Country runners competed at the Havre Cross Country Meet on Saturday, September 10. The overall winner of the girl's varsity 3 mile race at the Prairie Farms Golf Course in Havre was Tanae Baker of Glasgow who ran the race in 19:30. Drag strip enthusiasts, from across the state, North Dakota, and Canada, spent three days in the warm weather, racing to their heart’s content.
