    The Whitewater Penguins had a strong showing at the Cal Wearley Invitational in Havre last Wednesday, April 9. The ladies team placed twelfth out of 20 teams and was led by junior Kourtney Simonson. Simonson told the PCN last week that she needed to improve her first lap time, it seems like she did on her way to her first-first place finish of the year in the 800 meter run.     Last weekend, four wrestlers from Malta attended the State Folk Style tournament in Butte with head coach Ryan Labrie and they fared "very well." Trey Simanton was the oldest of the wrestlers from Malta at the tournament and according to coach Labrie faced the toughest competition. "He ended up finishing fourth," he said.     It was a cold and windy start for the Malta M-ettes and Mustangs who were able to participate in the Glasgow Invitational last Saturday. A few team members were missing due to not having the minimum amount of practices, including freshman Sophia Stiles, Jada Nicholson and Sarah Ware.   • Malta Golf Team has decent first meet

    The Wolf Point Invitational that was slated for Saturday was cancelled due to the course not being ready. However, the Malta golf team had its first meet in Shelby a day prior at the Shelby Invitational and did well. The girls team by Senior Tyanna Dunbar, who shot a 116.     Kourtney Simonson fared well in her 2014 debut, winning her flight of the 800 meter run and placing second overall with a time of 2:35.84 at the 2014 Glasgow Invitational last Saturday.     Mustang senior Zach Handley and M-ette freshman Sophia Stiles have both been honored for their basketball play this past week in the Great Falls Tribune.
