The Poplar Indians football team came to town on Tuesday for the home opener for the Malta Mustangs Freshman and Sophomore squad. The two teams slugged it out to a 6-6 stalemate in regulation, sending the game into overtime. The M-ettes have shown a lot of improvement in their first action of the year and nearly won the Malta invitational for the first time in years. The M-ettes made it all the way to the championship rounds against last years Southern C champs Winnett-Grass Range. The Saco Hinsdale Wildfire has a new look this year after losing Whitney Molina, Chadaya Christiansen, Shyla Gairrett and Bethany Lacock to graduation.
