Our defense really stepped up this week, and...
Fort Peck's Downstream Campground below the Fort Peck Dam was the scene of the Glasgow Scottie Invitational Cross Country Meet, held on a very windy and cool Saturday, September 30. The very flat paved Nature Trail weaves around ponds, cat tails and views of the powerhouses. The start of the race was changed this year from the prairie area to the parking lot near the Interpretive...

The Malta Cross Country Team didn’t have a doubleheader, but we doubled up this week. We had a meet in Shelby on Monday and then another one in Frazer on Thursday, all in the same week. It is not very often we participate in two meets in one week, but that’s how the schedule worked for us this year. And we capitalized on the fact that we had a free weekend, so we focused on getting in some good solid practices this past week and that paid off. We headed west on Monday to the annual Shelby Cross Country meet which is always a fun and fes...
The Penguins attended the Frazer Invite this last Thursday afternoon. If you’ve never been to a XC (cross country) race, this is the one to hit. It’s located outside of Frazer right next to the river. It is a beautiful area. It was pretty windy for most of the afternoon, but it seemed to die down when the girls started their race. Ava Hanley was planning to stick to her 8:30 split time with this course having three challenging hills. Shelbi LaBrie planned on easing into her first mile after struggling last week in Lewistown with her side aches....

The Whitewater Cross Country team competed in the Fergus Invitational held on Friday, September 15, at Pine Meadows Golf Course in Lewistown. This is a course that we have never been to before. I had heard it has some challenging hills and a good course to hit. This was an understatement. Besides being beautiful, the course had nothing but hills, steep and rolling. The athletes zig-zag through the entire golf course, winding into the trees and next to a hidden pond. It's kind of set up on the...
