The Malta-Whitewater wrestling team had a solid weekend going 1-1 at the Shepherd duals on Friday night and 3-2 at the Huntley Duals on Saturday. The Mustangs loss their opening team match against Glendive 27-42 but defeated Columbus 45-12. Malta's underclassmen teams picked up wins against Dodson last Tuesday night in Malta as the Mustangs JV squad defeated Dodson's varsity team 40-14 and the M-ette C-squad defeated the Lady Coyotes 49-33. The night opened up with the M-ettes jumping out to a 15-5 advantage in the first quarter thanks to a solid pressure defense that simply overwhelmed the young Lady Coyotes. The Mint Bar hosted its first annual 301 Blackout Turkey Shoot last Saturday night. The event gave local dart throwers the chance not only to win a turkey but the chance to raise money for both the Angel Program and Toys for Tots, both programs are geared to helping kids in need.
