The Malta Athletic Club Invitational was held at the Marian Hills Golf Course last Saturday.     In the Malta Mustang's home opener, it was supposed to be a clash of Mustangs as the team took on the Shepherd Mustangs last Friday in the team's Homecoming game. What really happened was a Shepherd beat-down as Malta won the game 28-0.     The Malta M-ettes showed no mercy against the Harlem Wildcats during their home opener held last Thursday. The team did drop a game to Chinook last Tuesday, September 8 and another to Poplar last Saturday. In their win against Harlem, the M-ettes played fierce and at times seemed untouchable.     The North Country Mavericks had an excellent weekend picking up a win against the Brockton Warrriors on Thursday night in Hinsdale and another win against Class B’s Harlem Wildcats in Harlem on Saturday night.     The Dodson-Whitewater Harriers had a completely new team at the Malta Athletic Club Invitational held last Saturday at the Marian Hills Golf Course.     The Third Annual Nile Sanctioned Phillips County Ranch Rodeo is in the books. Eight ranches from near and a far participated in events identical to tasks they perform on a near daily basis. The event was held at the Trafton Park Arena in Malta last Sunday.     Despite being a smoke filled weekend, 88 golfers from in and out of state showed up for the 2015 Marian Hills Open, held last weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Those golfers formed 22 teams that played in Montana's largest scramble payout to date. Teams had two chances to win their share of a grand prize of $5,000.     The Malta Mustangs surpassed all expectations last season in Head Coach Nick Oxarart's first season. The team not only made it to the post-season, the young Mustangs defeated the Roundup Panthers 20-17 in the first round.
