    The Malta Mustangs are off to a great start at 3-1 after defeating the Harlem Wildcats in Malta last Saturday night. The score was 54-28. Malta was led by senior Allen Williamson who scored 16 points. Nate Costin had 11 points. Jace Bishop had 10 points. Malta jumped out to an 18-7 lead at the end of the first.     The Malta-Whitewater wrestling team had a solid weekend going 1-1 at the Shepherd duals on Friday night and 3-2 at the Huntley Duals on Saturday. The Mustangs loss their opening team match against Glendive 27-42 but defeated Columbus 45-12. Kaden Moore, Trey Simanton, Ceaton Mears, Travis Epperson and Antonio Lopez won both of their matches that night. The next night Malta defeated Miles City 36-30 and Broadus 48-23.     Malta's underclassmen teams picked up wins against Dodson last Tuesday night in Malta as the Mustangs JV squad defeated Dodson's varsity team 40-14 and the M-ette C-squad defeated the Lady Coyotes 49-33. The night opened up with the M-ettes jumping out to a 15-5 advantage in the first quarter thanks to a solid pressure defense that simply overwhelmed the young Lady Coyotes.     The Malta M-ettes’ 2015-16 campaign is starting where last season ended, unblemished. The returning state champions are 3-0 despite a change in their typical playing schedule.     The North Country Mavericks had a strong week after picking up a win against the Frazer Lady Bearcubs last Thursday and another against Shields Valley in the Lewistown Invitational on Saturday.     The Mustangs' 2014-2015 campaign ended in a 53-40 loss to the Rocky Boy Northern Stars in the 2015 Northern B challenge game.
