  • Local K of C to Sponsor Youth Free Throw Competition

    All boys and girls ages nine to 14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2016 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. The local competition will be held at the Malta Grade School gym on Sunday, January 31st, at 1 pm. There are separate divisions for boys and girls for each age group; age is determined as of January 1. If you have questions contact Don Nevrivy. They will face Frazer in Frazer this Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Nashua in Saco at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The team defeated Dodson 61-22 in Dodson last Thursday.     The Malta-Whitewater Mustangs Wrestling team had a strong outing at the Harlem Wildcat Invitational last Saturday, taking third place out of 11 teams. Malta had 103 points. First place went to Glasgow, who had 140 points and second place Chinook having 117. Harlem was fourth with 81. The team placed seven wrestlers in the tournament including Sophomore Trey Simanton who was the only Mustang to win his weight class after defeating Harlem's Kolton Bishop.     The Dodson Lady Coyotes picked up their second win of the season last Monday, January 18 as they defeated the Chinook Lady Sugarbeeters JV Squad 57-43 at the Coyote Den in Dodson.
