    On a day many would've stayed inside due to the dreary and rainy conditions over Malta, the Marian Hills Women's Golf League hosted its annual championship game and was able to complete the game en lieu of a one hour rain delay.     The community of Whitewater nearly doubled in size last week as the school hosted its second annual North Country Maverick's Basketball camp.     The Marian Hills Golf Course hosted the Third annual Jean Green Memorial last Saturday with over 30 golfers present. The event not only served as a family reunion, it also served as a fundraiser that raised $420 for Tricia LaBrie, a friend of the family. The event also had $25 cash prizes on each hole.     Last Wednesday marked a great moment for the community of Malta as the Milk River Baseball Club hosted its first girls softball scrimmage. It was an event that had 15 players between two teams.     The Malta Swim Team placed sixth place with only twenty-three athletes last weekend at the Glasgow Swim Meet.     Phillips County Motorsports held their second weekend of this season on June 18 and 19 despite the high winds blowing against the racers.     The opening of Malta Skatepark brought hundreds of people to Malta's Hillcrest neighborhood last Sunday, with a majority of that population being children 18 and under. While many people hit the park on skateboard or scooter, nearly everyone had a form of protection.     This Father’s Day weekend I was given one of the best Father’s Day presents I could have received. While participating in the 25th annual Quigley Match outside Forsyth, MT, my daughter Brianna Sims of Malta, MT shot a 34 out of a possible 48 winning the Woman’s Division and besting her dad in the process. She also received two straight “8” pins for getting all 8 shots on both targets or as we like to say “cleaning the target”.     The Malta Swim Team welcomed their new coach, Cassie Pratt last weekend at the Chinook Swim Meet and placed third as a team. The meet also marked the first meet for many of Malta's swimmers.
