    The Malta Mustangs took a huge step in helping their chances to make the post-season for the third year in a row after defeating the Wolf Point Wolves 41-0 last Friday, October 7 at Mustang Field. The team will face the Harlem Wildcats in Harlem this Friday, October 14, at 7 p.m. Harlem was dismantled 62-0 by the Glasgow Scotties last Friday.     On Saturday, September 24, a former Malta standout Kirk Stiles was named to the Carroll College Hall of Fame. Stiles was a part of a Fighting Saints basketball team at Carroll that has now become legendary after their 26-6 record in the 2000-01 season, in which the team was also crowned the Frontier Conference Champions.     After losing the first set to the Harlem Ladycats on Thursday, October 6, in Harlem, the Malta M-ettes had a team discussion that would inspire the team to come back and not only win the remaining sets but completely dominate the game.     The Malta M-ettes picked up their first win in over a week after defeating the North Country Mavericks in Whitewater on Friday. The win was long needed for an M-ette team that has struggled to win a single set. The team won 3-1 with scores of 22-25, 25-15, 25-18 and 25-21. Malta lost to Wolf Point on Saturday, October 1. This race was the annual benefit race with proceeds to go to Russell Jaynes in his battle with cancer.     Engines are roaring and the final touches are being added to what seems to be an aging group of AMX cars in preparation for the final race of the year. This race is Oct. 1 and 2 in Dodson and will be a benefit race for Russell Jaynes.
