    What was a seemingly close football game turned into a sloppy loss for the Malta Mustangs, who are 3-2 after a 42-7 loss to the Fairfield Eagles last Friday in Fairfield.     The Malta M-ettes had a relatively short week that netted them a loss to the North Country Mavericks, but the team utilized their night off on Saturday, September 30, to bond.     The Malta M-ettes placed third as a team at the Scottie Invitational Cross Country Meet at Fort Peck on Saturday, September 30. Seventy-three runners stood at the starting line on a grassy cactus strewn field looking straight ahead toward the power houses of the Fort Peck Dam waiting for the final command that would propel them forward with the hopes of running swiftly over the 5k course.
