    The 104th Phillips County Fair's AMX event did not fail to entertain as the event featured thrills, spills, crashes and even a fire.     Every Malta swimmer present at the 2019 Montana Federation of Swimmers East Divisional Meet in Scobey last Saturday, July 27 through Sunday, July 28, earned a ticket to state. The State Swim Meet is scheduled for Saturday, August 3 through Sunday, August 4, in Sidney. At the East Divisional, ten-year-old Jahmiah Huffman-LaBrie led Malta with 34 points, winning the 50 Meter Backstroke with a time of 43.63.     The Montana Drag Racing Association (MDRA) was present last weekend at the Hi-Line Drag Strip as the Phillips County Motorsports (PCMS) Group held it's third weekend of the year.     The vacancy at the position of Head Football Coach at Malta High School was filled on the morning of Monday, July 22, as Nick Oxarart agreed to coach the team for a second stint. Oxarart had been a part of the team as a head coach or assistant coach all but one season for 2006. According to a previous PCN article, Oxarart spent eight seasons as a Mustang assistant football coach from 2006 to 2013.     For the second week in a row, the Malta Swim Team has been extremely short handed, being represented only by 15-year-old Darrow Messerly at the Plentywood Swim Meet.
