Malta Parks and Recreation kicked off it’s 2020 Co-Ed Softball season on Tuesday, June 23, at the Trafton Park Softball Fields. On Saturday, June 13, the Dodson Speedway was open as the sights and sounds of AMX racing were seen and heard around the Fairgrounds. Last Saturday, June 20, the Malta Barrel Racing Summer Series held their third weekend. The races were held at the Trafton Rodeo Arena. The Summer Series is free admission and is set to hold it's next event on Saturday, June 27, starting at noon. The event had 70 racers in the Open, Youth, and Men's events. Malta Parks and Recreation hosted it's second annual Malta Soccer Camp instructed by local MHS senior Kendrik Wright. The three-day camp started on Tuesday, June 16, and concluded on Thursday, June 18. The camp featured children ages four to 14. "It's pretty fun teaching the campers," Wright told the PCN. Over the last few weeks, the Trafton Park Rodeo Arena has seen plenty of action over the month of June, and the arena is set to host the 2020 Malta NRA Rodeo, an event that welcomes rodeoers within a 200-mile radius. The NRA stands for National Rodeo Association, which holds rodeos throughout Montana. The NRA welcomes riders from Montana and part of Wyoming. The Malta Department of Parks and Recreation introduced an organized backyard game to 20 participants last Friday night at the Malta City Hall.
