The house being added on to across from the Phillips County Courthouse has had some construction lights installed as works continues in the home’s basement. Music Districts 12 & 13 Honor Band and Choir — which include Phillips County schools — will be having their concert this year on Monday, January 20. As winter fell gently on the county to close out the year, the local VFW Christmas tree had a new set of ornaments in memory of the fifteen deceased Veterans from 2019. The tree is at the local VFW Buster Deo Post 4067 in Malta. Because of the generosity of the community, the Malta Senior Center is continuing to update the facilities. The latest is LED lights on the exterior replacing the dated 1960 era fixtures. We also have an exterior outlet for our Christmas tree and lights eliminating the 'extension cord' fixture. New ballasts were installed in some of the center's ceiling so the interior is completely lit making it easier on the eyes for the card and bingo players.
