Over forty agriculture producers attended the Crop Seminar held by the Extension Office on Wednesday February 26. The daylong program started with Uta McKelvy, Montana State University PhD candidate, Department of Plant Sciences and Plant Pathology. McKelvy provided an overview of how fungicide resistance happened in a field crop. Workers took the wooden blocks out from underneath the home having a new basement built near the Phillips County Courthouse. I also watched workers do some wood cutting for new light outside of the Villa Theatre. When they are done, I will be taking those workers to Dairy Queen for lunch, supper, or dessert. A few days ago, I got to go to the Masonic Lodge on 5th Street. It used to be a Lutheran church, but now it is a lodge for the Masons and the Eastern Star. When I got there I got to see them take out old chairs, maybe from the 1970's. The trailer had new chairs they were bringing in. The new chairs looked a lot like theater seats. Saturday March 14, 2020, the Malta Senior Center will host their fifth annual Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. This was our Vice President Leonard Leader’s idea and has become a popular spring event.
