    The Angel Program is preparing for the holiday season and applications are now available at the Malta Food Bank for those who wish to receive gifts for their children from the Angel Program. In order to qualify for the Angel Program, children listed must be 18 years of age or younger and living in the household that is applying.     To assist in monitoring bovine tuberculosis, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is looking to deer hunters in Blaine and Phillips counties for help. In September, bovine tuberculosis (bTB) was discovered in a herd of cattle in northern Blaine County and then later in Phillips County. Bovine TB is a contagious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium bovis and primarily affects cattle. The disease can be transmitted to nearly any mammal, including humans.     Chronic wasting disease (CWD) was recently detected in a mule deer buck that was euthanized within Baker city limits in Hunting District 705 by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials on Oct. 27.     Three Phillips County municipalities held elections on Tuesday, November 2. The town of Dodson had the busiest ballot in the county, with the mayor’s spot to be filled and two council member spots open. A total of 67 ballots were issued to active registered voters with 41, or 61.1% of those ballots returned. At the end of May this year, then-mayor, Terri Cole resigned.
