    The local school districts held their elections and levy voting on May 3, 2022. In Malta, a new trustee has been voted in. Jessica Oyler defeated incumbent Greg Skiff in the only spot up for the Malta Board of Trustees. Oyler won by a margin of 560 vs 403 in a vote that had 1807 ballots sent out to registered voters, with 987 of those returning ballots, for a 54.6% voter turnout. “I appreciate everyone who voted and supported me to become the next Malta School Board Trustee,” said Oyler. “I am looking forward to serving our amazing schoo...

    Whitney Grant, Glasgow Farm Credit Services, was in Malta May 6, 2022, to award a $3000 check to the local members of the center. Other Farm Credit personnel assisting the group with the grant were Beth Johnson and Heidi Whitman, Director, Marketing and Public Relations.     May 10 marks 18 years of helping Montanans quit tobacco. Since 2004, more than 100,000 Montanans have called the Montana Tobacco Quit Line for help with their quit attempt and more than 36,000 have quit! Montana has one of the highest quit rates for all tobacco products in the nation, according to the North American Quitline Consortium.     During the latest Malta City Council meeting on April 26, Delsi and Eric Witmer asked the council for permission to hang Hometown Hero Banners on the light poles around town.     The Malta High School Choir had a very successful weekend at District Music Festival in Wolf Point April 22nd and 23rd.
