    There was a party in the cafeteria of the Malta Elementary School on Wednesday, May 26, at 3:15 p.m. The kids had left school for home, and the teachers started to migrate to the cafeteria to honor four of their co-workers. Some of the family members of the honorees were there as well. Punch and coffee were served with a decorated cake that read thanks for your service.     The Malta City Council held its regular meeting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, at City Hall. Present for the meeting were council members William Hicks, James Sintler, Bonnie Wiederrick, and David Rummel. Mayor John Demarais was on a conference call for the meeting due to illness. Dora's daughter Teri Leys, of Choteau, Teri's grandson Roper James and Asher and Aurora, in Teri's care, visited at the Henry home for the Memorial Day weekend.     Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is beginning the sealed bid process for a one-year hay lease on the Cree Crossing Wildlife Management Area (WMA) located north of Nelson Reservoir in Phillips County.     On Friday, May 14, during one of his many volunteer concerts for the residents of the Hi-Line Retirement Center, it was announced that Warren Taylor has won the Montana Health Care Association Volunteer of the Year award.     Malta Kiwanis are happy to announce that they recently became part of the national program known as the Little Free Library. Throughout Montana Kiwanis Clubs have joined in this special program to encourage reading for everybody. There are over 100,000 Little Free Library projects set up and one is now located near Patty's Greenhouse and Florist.     Montana’s 67th Legislative Session came to a close on April 29th, 2021, and can generally be considered a success for agriculture. The Montana Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) followed and took action on over 75 bills, formally supporting 50 and opposing 19 based on MFBF policy.
