    The local VFW Auxiliary was able to convince three individuals of the importance of serving as a judge for the Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen essays. The lucky three spent nearly four hours on Saturday listening to 63 of the 65 essays submitted.     Bright and early on Monday morning, veterans made their way to the Malta High School cafeteria, where they were greeted by young ladies as school representatives and Principal Shawn Bleth. At short notice, due various scheduling conflicts and other interruptions, the veterans were invited to come, visit, share and enjoy time with the youth.
