The Annual Shareholder meeting and banquet of the Equity Co-op Association of Phillips County was held Thursday, October 8. President Frank Drabbs opened the meeting and Art Solberg blessed the wonderful pork roast meal prepared by the Westside Restaurant. Gary Knudsen read the minutes from the last meeting held July 16, 2014 at Westside. Drabbs stated, “Co-op business was down a little bit this last year. Fuel was down and that makes our margins really tight. CHS cut back quite a bit on the patronage that we got back, the retirement. All in a...
Anymore, you can’t mention the NFL without thinking about fantasy football. I’ve talked about fantasy football before (and as of today, my record is 3-1 and tied for first, hooray me) and what I think it adds to the game, but this week, I am going to talk about how the craze has changed NFL records and leads to inflated statistics. On October 12, 1992, Washington Redskins wide receiver Art Monk became the all-time NFL reception leader with his 820th catch. Monk would go on to haul in 940 catches in his 224 career games (an average of just ove...

Add those descriptions to a deluge of good ol' Montana rain and a race track and you have the elements that were present when the Dodson Speedway hosted the final competition for the 2015 season on October 3 and 4 at the Dodson Fairgrounds. Fifteen cars braved the elements and arrived to support the benefit fund raiser which was held to assist Tonya Messerly with her kidney ailment expenses. The cars had their work cut out for them with the track conditions. Cars were unable to get any speed, some cou...
