    The M-ettes went 1-2 over their last three games, picking up a win over the Harlem Wildcats in Malta, while falling to the Chinook Sugarbeeters and Wolf Point Wolves in away games.     For the first time in three years, the Dodson Cross Country Invite wasn't canceled due to weather and though temperatures barely crept past 50 on the day, many athletes finished their races in personal best times.     The North Country Mavericks split last weekend's games defeating Class B's Poplar Indians in Saco on Friday, October 5, and losing to Scobey on Saturday, October 6. In the team's win over Poplar, the scores were 25-21, 21-25 , 25-17, 17-25, and 15-12. "Communication and staying energetic were the keys to our win," Senior hitter Kaitlyn McColly told the PCN.     The Malta M-ette cross country team participated at the Golden Eagle Cross Country Meet on Friday, September 14. The meet was held at the Pine Meadows Golf Course. "This is a hilly course" the meet invitation stated. The course surface was mostly grass and mowed wild grass, a surface that isn't as easy to run on as a harder surface such as dirt or gravel roads.
