Semipostals are stamps on which the price exceeds the regular First-Class letter rate; the difference is devoted to a specific cause.     The Malta M-ettes picked up their first win in over a week after defeating the North Country Mavericks in Whitewater on Friday. The win was long needed for an M-ette team that has struggled to win a single set. The team won 3-1 with scores of 22-25, 25-15, 25-18 and 25-21. Malta lost to Wolf Point on Saturday, October 1.     The M-ettes ran in the Havre Invitational Cross Country Meet last Saturday, October 1. The team took sixth place with 165 points and was led by Jillian O'Brien who took 25th place individually.     The North Country Mavericks may not have been full strength against the Glasgow Scotties JV team, but the team defeated Glasgow 3-0. The scores were 25-21, 25-21 and 25-21.     Malta Parks and Recreation has been extremely busy this year, starting a youth soccer league, adult softball league and other events around town and their efforts to keep the town of Malta moving will continue on Tuesday, October 18 as Parks and Rec will kick off its first season of Co-ed Volleyball.     Friends, family and a few spectators gathered together at the Dodson Fairgrounds for the final Dodson Speedway event of the season. This race was the annual benefit race with proceeds to go to Russell Jaynes in his battle with cancer.     The Dodson Whitewater Harriers tackled two tough courses this week in Hays and Havre, making a total of three meets in seven days. On Wednesday, September 28 they ran in beautiful Mission Canyon at Hays, battling a completely uphill course.
