  • ArtSpot Grand Opening slated for October 11

    Mark Hebert, Editor|Oct 1, 2014

ArtSpot’s Grand Opening is slated for Thursday, October 11, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Bohn’s Bones Art Gallery and Kathy Bagley, head of the program, is asking people to take the night and treat it with childlike curiosity. “I often have people tell me ‘I’m not artistic’,” said Bagley. “You don’t have to be artistic to come and have fun and enjoy yourself. Children never hesitate if you put paint and a paintbrush in front of them; they don’t worry about being artistic, they just want to create and have fun. I am asking all the adul...

  • The carnage continues

    Parker Heinlein, Outdoors Columnist|Oct 1, 2014

The carnage continues. I don’t want to belabor the point, but this infestation of mosquitoes is life-altering. Or at least hunt-altering. I have to leave the house well before dawn to get in any hunting at all. In the cool of the morning, following the dogs across the prairie is tolerable, even pleasant at times. Once the sun clears the horizon, however, I quickly turn back toward the truck accompanied by a growing swarm of bloodsuckers. There’s no escape. On the drive back to town, I roll dow...

Within a couple months it has started to heal following surgery however it is already ¾ inch shorter than the o...
