The Saco-Hinsdale Wildfire may be younger than they were last year, but they are proving to be every bit as strong as last year's squad. The Wildfire kicked their season off to a 2-0 start after defeating Lustre Christian in three games of five (25-20, 25-14 and 25-6) in Lustre last Thursday and defeating Opheim (25-18, 25-19, 25-10) in their home opener the following day. The Harrier season started on August 30, at the Poplar Invite. Senior Jeret Warren was the lone runner. Jeret placed 8th with a time of 18.34. Jeret already has his eye on State in October. Although there will not be a team score in Helena this year (Class C needs 3 runners for a team), he is striving again for an all-state placing, hoping to improve on his 12th place from 2013. Rainy several miles was the order of the day for Saturday and Sunday. It cleared off pretty much by Tuesday. Margie, Sue, Allie, Nancy and Tessa were in Idaho were in Idaho for a few days for the wedding of Margie and Swede’s granddaughter, Katelyn Brainard to Levi Norris. The wedding took place in Coeur d’ Alene. Katelyn is the daughter of Carolyn (Olsen) and Lee Brainard of Hayden, Idaho. The Great Plains Dinosaur Museum will be holding a special event on Saturday, September 13, 2104 and invite everyone to join them between 5 and 7 PM that evening at the museum. It’s a case of too much weeds in Malta. Also: Thos Facey and Harry Cummings have rigged up fly traps and are grabbing the winged pests at the rate of a gallon a day. Montana Pork Producers Council (MPPC) is offering a Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDv) Disease and Update Seminar for producers in September.
