Riley Baublitz, a 17-year-old student at Malta High School, passed away last Tuesday, August 30, following a car crash on Highway 243, 10 miles west of Saco. Baublitz was the passenger in a van driven by a 22-year-old acquaintance, according to the Montana Highway Patrol. Richard "Dick" Caves was honored as the Saco Fun Days Parade's Grand Marshall on Saturday afternoon. Caves passed away in June of this year. Caves graduated from Saco High School in 1951 and was a U.S. Navy veteran and rancher. I make it a point to hike into the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone at least once every summer. It’s a place I first visited 45 years ago. Donald Ray Watson, Age 79, went to meet the Range Boss on August 31, 2016. He passed peacefully at home. Donny was born on April 6, 1937 in Malta, Mont., to Ray and Laura Watson. There was a memorial dinner for Frank Allery at the North 40 on Sunday. Dinner was delicious and really well attended. The Malta Mustangs are a pretty young team this season after losing 12 seniors to graduation. This season the Mustangs will only have six seniors, opening up spots for underclassmen that may start for years to come.
