  • Where have the bees gone

    Parker Heinlein, Outdoors Columnist|Aug 21, 2019

I’d read the stories about vanishing honeybees, but didn’t put much stock in them. I was still seeing plenty of bees. Now all of a sudden I’m not. Last year when I’d walk close to my caragana hedge it was abuzz with a low hum. Not this year. There wasn’t a honeybee to be heard or seen among the yellow blossoms. In my sweet corn patch only a couple of bees flit from tassle to tassle doing their work. At the lake where miles of clover lines the shore and the slightest breeze used to push bees...

  • A good trip

    Pierre Bibbs, Sports Editor|Aug 21, 2019

After getting wiped out by the fair, my family and I had the chance to escape the great state of Montana and go home to spend time with my family in the suburbs of Chicago. The road trip was long and treacherous. Lincoln was crying thirty minutes down the road and then off and on throughout the trip. Despite his disdain for being strapped into his car seat, the little guy did good. If you knew how “busy” he was you would understand why he was so eager to escape his seat. PJ traveled like a champ...

  • Montana Construction Updates

    David Veseth, PCN Construction Reporter|Aug 21, 2019

A new shed has been built at Art’s Furniture in Malta in the alley that is next to Central Ave. Pit Crew. It is my guess that they will store mattresses and other furniture in the shed. About a month ago, I went to Seattle and got to go on a boat ride with my family. While on the boat we saw some containers that go on freight trains. When I was in Seattle near the pier, I also got to see some jelly fish swimming in the water. I also ate seafood, including fish dishes. As for the MOI c...
