    The Whitewater Class of 1972 met as a group for the first time in 50 years on August 8 & 9, 2022. Of the ten graduates, eight were able to attend. Missing were Allan Potter who passed away in December 2020, and Dan Kinshella who had business commitments.   • Knights of Columbus BBQ Competition this Saturday!

    Trafton Park will be the center of attraction this weekend, as the local Knights of Columbus begin the countdown as the Third Annual BBQ contest begins on Saturday, August 20th. At 6 am the grills will fire up and the teams are off and running. The venue has been changed to accommodate the contestants, as many will be arriving by camper and wanted a place to set up and park for the weekend.     Myrtle Hould, life long Phillips County resident, celebrated her 99th birthday on August 14th. She's an amazing beautiful lady, always welcoming family, and friends to her home with some homemade goodies. If you ask her what she is doing this week, she'll say "I have company coming, so I'm making cinnamon rolls and banana bread."     What started out as picking up "a couple shifts" back in 1979, turned out to be a career that would keep Darl Crowder busy and on the floors for longer than she anticipated. Just short of forty-three years as a CNA at what is now known as the Hi-Line Retirement Center, she said she has been there "through more administrators than I can count."     Malta City Council met in chambers Tuesday, August 9th with various items on the agenda. Following opening rituals, the minutes from the previous meeting, the agenda, claim warrants, payroll, and checks were approved. In opening remarks, Public Works Director Jim Truelove reported two campers had taken up residency in Trafton Park and had been evicted. The campers then set up on an empty lot in town, which resulted in their being evicted by the land owner after the City requested their removal and a copy of the city ordinance was provided....

    Clyde Allen Martin, 76, of Landusky, MT passed away at his home on August 8, 2022. He was born September 22, 1945, in Lewistown, MT to Harold E. and Amy L. (Larsen) Martin. Clyde and his siblings grew up around Roy, MT. In his younger years he and his twin sister, Carolyn, would trail cows for Joe Murphy; nearly 15 miles, on foot!
