    The Malta Swim Team only had swimmers attend the Glendive Invitational Swim Meet. The low numbers coupled with no relay teams was the deciding factor in the team not placing. Shay Garfield and Jillian O'Brien were the top point earners for Malta Swim Team with 28 points each.     Carolyn Schmoeckel, District President for the American Legion Auxiliary, recently attended State Convention in Billings. The AMA Post 57 competed in the decorated boot entry with the one in the accompanying picture. The three day conference brought Auxiliary members together to engage in activities, updates of the organization and planning for the future of the organization.   • Malta Irrigation announces shut down due to lack of water

    Due to the ongoing drought and wind over the last couple of months, Malta Irrigation will be shutting down for the season between the dates of August 10th -15th while the Fresno Reservoir will be shutting down starting August 3rd. Seepage and evaporation, especially evaporation, have severely diminished the water supply. While we would like to have a more definite time frame, we believe it was prudent to be proactive with our operations so irrigators could plan accordingly. Robinson House was the site of the annual Dirt Daubers Garden Club Standard Flower Show, while the backyard was host to the Phillips County Museum Antique & Collectible Sale last Saturday, July 15.
