What follows are the races, the candidates and brief statements on why they are running for o...

The two men were thick as thieves in 1968 while they were both in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. Vanderleelie, who currently lives in Jacumba, Calif., and Tremblay, a Malta native, were members of the 97th Signal Battalion in Manheim, Germany. • Birds of a feather flock together

    Jun 28, 2017

Dear Editor, Another useless week in Washington - can we deduct from the United States congress a week’s pay for not getting anything done? Oh, but 13 elderly men on a committee with no women, brought forth a new nation's health system. Of course, they had to do it in secret - now one can see why. My insurance premiums will amount to 675% increase over what I pay now. However, included in the measure are lower tax rate deduction for the super-rich. Birds of a feather flock together and all you Trump lovers thought this TV pitchman was going to...

  • I dream of potato salad

    Pierre Bibbs, Sports Editor|Jun 28, 2017

My parents came through for a few days. My real parents. You have no idea how awkward it is when people assume that my parents are around Malta when in actuality it was just another African American that I have never met in my life. It is awkward and yes it happens. If you think that you saw my parents here around Father’s Day, yes it probably happened. It lifted my spirit to see or should I say hear my folks coming down the street. They had a piece of their Buick’s undercarriage scraping the...

The adults had a Norweigan horseshoe tournament with about ten teams. A special treat for me was seeing Ruth and John...

Happy Summer! Does anyone know the story behind Cole, Mont.? Cole was located in Phillips County approximately 20 miles northwest of Saco. At one time, it was a flourishing city of 1,000 people. But “toe gravel” was not available at the dam site. It was determined that 4,000,000 cubic yards was needed. Survey’s determined an extensive glacial depos...
