The event was the First Annual “Poncho” Memorial BBQ, a day to recognize, honor and remember Jory Schipman and bring awareness to the signs of and needs for rec...

  • Semisesquicentennial Diamond Celebrated

    Kari Hould, PCN Staff|Jun 27, 2024

Semisesquicentennial diamond...if that isn't a tongue-twisting title, it should be! He joins King Charles III, Billy Joel, Kathy Bates, Richard Simmons and Cat Stevens in the "age" group. But he was the only one who celebrated the milestone at the local VFW with family and friends on Friday evening doing what he loves best...playing his fiddle. Southwick kept the...

  • For Nearly 20 Years, Malta was Home

    Parker Heinlein, Outdoors Columnist|Jun 27, 2024

I’ve had some pretty prestigious Montana addresses. General Delivery, Cooke City was my first, and it’s still hard to beat. Tucked into the valley of Soda Butte Creek, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, Cooke is only a couple of miles up the road from Yellowstone Park. I’ve also called Livingston home, and probably will again. Like Cooke, it has spectacular mountain views, and while Yellowstone is a few more miles up the road, it’s still close. For a few years, Barb and I lived in Bozeman on Will...

  • These Allergies... Worth it.

    Pierre Bibbs, Play Ball|Jun 27, 2024

After the last few years of drought that we have experienced in Montana, the green grass, trees, and foliage has been wonderful to see. This weekend, it feels like I sneezed more than I have ever sneezed over the course of two days. Energy is zapped. My nose runs, my eyes and ears itch. I have never cracked the code on keeping my allergies...

The games included varsity and JV teams from across the hi-line and it was a time for squads to reunite and play against some schools that will be on their play list this fall. The games were played at the high school as well as at the Old Gym, due to a flooding issue at the high school that left one half (west court) out of the rotation of floors upon which games could be played.
